I fell into the printing field at the tender age of 15, taking an offset printing course at a technical school after being drawn to the teachers' likeness to Ted Nugent. I quickly realized that this occupation could fill the perfect niche in my soul—utilizing my creativity and technical skills, as well as to fulfill a penchant for noisy machines. Many years later, this ever-changing trade still fascinates me. One real benefit of having been in the field for this long is that I am a true typographer, a fast-disappearing skill in this day. I contract for several Bay Area print shops, designing new projects and performing pre-press operations on incoming not-so-perfect files, as well as working for local graphic designers to help with their overflow work, and also running my own company so *I* get to be the boss every so often!
